Welcome to my new website and my first ever blog!
I'll start by telling you a bit about myself. I'm a 23 year old Makeup Artist who is based on the Central Coast in NSW. In August 2015, I moved to the UK with my Boyfriend so that we could live, work, travel and have the adventure of a lifetime together. As the winter temperatures plummeted we decided that the cold of England just wasn't for us and booked our flights home for the end of August this year. When we arrive home I will pick up where I left off and relaunch my makeup business.
I studied Makeup Artistry at the Sydney College of Makeup Art in North Sydney and received my Diploma Mid 2014. Shortly after I started my business, 'Makeup by Taylor', and discovered that making others feel confident and beautiful is truly what I want to spend the rest of my life doing. No other job has ever felt so satisfying and so enjoyable. I soon branched out and started spray tanning to add an extra element to my business and combined it with the hair and makeup services I already provided, I put together packages which allowed my customers needs to be met all in one place.
About 12 months ago I bought my first tube of Henna paste and instantly fell in love with the Ancient Art. I taught myself different techniques and was soon a regular stall holder at several Art and Crafts Markets on the Central Coast as well as expanding my business to Henna Party Hire for Birthdays, Baby Showers, etc.
After 6 months in England and away from my business I am starting to itch.. Some might say I'm getting creatively frustrated! I deeply miss doing makeup and Henna as frequently as I used to and the idea of coming home and putting 110% into a job that I love excites me.
I don't care that I'll never have set hours or that I'll rarely have a free weekend. I don't mind that I'll spend my days washing makeup brushes and picking individual lashes off everything I own. I fine with the fact that my forearm will serve no purpose but to be striped with lipstick and eyeshadow swatches day after day. I'm too creative for a 9-5 job and I cannot wait to make people feel beautiful for years to come.
