Happy New Year!

A lot of people complained about 2016 but for me it was great! I lived overseas and experienced a different was of life. We travelled Europe and Asia, moved home to Australia, I relaunched my business, made bookings for 2017, completed a small business management course, spend Christmas with my family and brought in the New Year with my love and my best friends.

It's the start of a new year and an exciting one for me! I have so much planned for 2017. I've established myself as a Cruelty Free MUA and I'm getting fantastic feedback! I've booked my first Vegan wedding for September this year as well as other brides who just generally care about the fight against animal cruelty!

I have some small goals in the works - becoming a stockist for MBL lipsticks, getting involved in the Look Good Feel Better program and adding one on one makeup lessons to my list of services.

I know 2017 is going to be a crazy big year for me and my growing business. I already feel overwhelmed with the amount of support and amazing feedback I've had from both friends and loved ones as well as recent clients. This year is off to a good start! I cant wait to dive in!

Cruelty Free Beginnings!

I arrived back home from the UK 3 weeks ago and I had to make the decision whether to go back to work or pick my Makeup business up off the ground and put my all into making it successful. The Tuesday after I arrived home I went for a job interview with a well known Tailor in the Center of Sydney. The interview went well and had I been in a different place at a different time it would have been the perfect job for me. I knew that if I took this job I would be forced to put my love of being a Makeup Artist on the backburner yet again. With the guilt of not earning a solid income and being able to contribute financially I had to choose whether to make money or chase my dream. The next day, with much anxiety, I withdrew my application. With the help and motivation of Matt and my family I have been busy improving and advertising my business. I am happy to say that my future's looking bright!

Yesterday I travelled to Sydney and took the plunge, stocking up my Makeup kit with all sorts of new Cruelty Free products! Brands like Two Faced, Hour Glass, Josie Maran and Urban Decay are now a big part of my Cruelty Free makeup kit. During the coming weeks I will be phasing out all of the products/ brands in my kit that support animal cruelty. I hope to have my kit complete by the 30th of October when I attend the Love on the Lawn Wedding Expo at Hope Estate - The Hunter Valley, where I will make my debut as a Cruelty Free Makeup Artist!

Visit their website www.loveonthelawn.com.au for more info on the boho chic event!

With new markets, Wedding expos and School Formals booked in I feel like things are looking up for me. I have new business cards, a new logo and website layout, a new makeup studio and custom Taylor Beck Makeup Artist t-shirts on the way, I'm feeling more excited and motivated than ever! I cant wait to see what the future holds for me and my business!

I'm Going Cruelty Free!

A week or so ago, in the middle of trying to organise new Markets and Wedding Fairs to join when I return home, my partner suggestested that I make my Hair and Makeup business completely Cruelty Free. The idea was so perfect, I can't believe I never thought of it myself. Being a Cruelty Free MUA was the perfect way to tie my Makeup and Natural Henna business together.

The Cruelty Free makeup movement is ever growing! Many big name and high end brands are now cruelty free which means my clients will not be disadvantaged when it comes to the quality of their makeup look. Although many of my former favourite makeup brands are not Cruelty Free (MAC, Bobbi Brown, etc) I am excited to get home, sort through my makeup supplies and find new brands that offer the same quality with less consequences to our furry friends. After doing some research into Cruelty Free makeup brands I discovered loads of quality brands and products that I can switch to. There is even an app to help seek out cruelty free brands as I shop!

I'm excited to move in a different direction and speak to a different market of people through my makeup. Becoming a Cruelty Free MUA is not only a good move for me in terms of tying my two businesses together but I'm also doing my small part in fighting the animal cruelty industry.
